Procurement Assistant/Artwork Planner

We are looking for an experienced, keen, motivated individual to join our winning team in this critical position. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of suppliers of products and services and work closely with the Procurement Manager in forecasting and negotiating supplier contracts. You will also be fully responsible for the artwork planning aspects of product packaging, liaising with key customers and their internal teams to ensure their requirements and regulatory standards are met.

You will need to have a great phone manner, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships, along with being a confident negotiator and organiser, analytical by nature with a focus on quality. With some solid procurement experience under your belt, administration will also be a core skill and you will get enjoyment from checking that all your i’s are dotted and t’s crossed.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the MRP [material requirement planning] processes including responsibility for the purchasing and order confirmation process of raw materials and packaging
  • Checking deliveries, identifying discrepancies and reporting on them
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure documentation is on time and accurate
  • Management of the artwork process

You will have:

  • Relevant experience in a procurement/purchasing function with an understanding of basic material requirement planning [MRP]
  • Experience in managing printed packaging including producing specifications and liaising with agencies and print suppliers
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, FMCG or similar environment preferred
  • Strong administration, workflow process, organisation and planning skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport
  • Good technical and IT nouswith Intermediate level usage of all Microsoft Office tools

Due to an internal promotion this role is a great career opportunity for someone with a QA/GMP Compliance background.  You will be a key player who makes a tangible difference to a business in serious growth mode.  The position reports to the Head of Quality and is part of the team which ensures quality and compliance within Argenta Research. 

In your day to day role, you’d be working closely with the R&D and Commercialisation scientists to review documentation, provide Quality Assurance advice and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.  Argenta is a young business which has already become a market leader both locally and internationally, and in conjunction with the Head of Quality and team, you would have the ability to be a key input into the ongoing design of the systems that organise and control R&D activity and documentation.

As you are reviewing the work of others, an eye for detail as well as developing and maintaining strong internal relationships is key to the success of the role.  You need to be a strong communicator and problem solver to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Reviewing R&D documentation and providing advice on compliance requirements
  • Working flexibly to provide compliance solutions that ensure R&D can function efficiently whilst meeting stringent requirements
  • Developing systems to organise and control R&D activities and documents
  • Providing training on Quality Assurance and compliance requirements

You must have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification eg. Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry
  • Experience working in a GMP environment within the pharmaceutical or allied industry
